Agony for Lydia...Ecstasy for Jacqui

22 Feb 2006

Before the agonising injury suffered by Lydia Ierodiaconou, it had been Jacqui Cooper’s night of nights.
Cooper, also on the comeback trail after a knee and shoulder reconstruction, blew away her opposition with a world record score of 213.36 points to grab the number one qualifying spot heading to tomorrow night’s gold medal round.

What she said: Jacqui Cooper
22 Feb 2006

“That was probably a great jump for me, a real confidence boost, just what I needed. I hadn't landed a triple somersault in competition in four years since a couple of weeks before the last Olympics.”
“It was a massive confidence booster and it felt like I got my landing gear back.”

21 Feb 2006

The equation for cross country skiers Paul Murray and Esther Bottomley at Pragelato Plan on the morning of 22 February (Day 12) is pretty simple - make the top 30 in the sprint qualification race and you're into the finals.

Conditions perfect for late-starter Oppliger
21 Feb 2006

Emanuel Oppliger will be riding a good omen when he competes in the parallel giant slalom on 22 February (Day 12).
