Under 10 Child Racing Announcement

Following advice from coaches involved with Children’s racing, the NAC passed a motion at its November 2004 meeting to exclude all Under 10 Children from State heats and national Finals of the Australian Children’s Championship.

Subsequent consultations gave rise to an amended motion which has now become a resolution of the NAC.

Please find herewith a copy of the new resolution that takes effect immediately.

That for National Championships conducted in 2005
A maximum field size of 120 racers for the National Finals.
Retention of the Club Draw system for seeding.
Preference given to Club athletes, so independents run last in each category.
To enter the National Final, a racer must have competed in at least one State Heat.
Only Child 1 and Child 2 categories are run in the National Final
Comment: (with a quota of 120 athletes, Child 1 and Child 2 athletes should have priority)

For State Championships in 2005
Retention of the Club Draw system for seeding.
Preference given to Club athletes, so independents run last in each category
Child 0, Child 1 and Child 2 categories participate
No overall point score series Champion for Child 0 athletes

Comment: (this removes the need/desire for C0 racers to compete in all State events)
